2008 Harley Davidson Electra Glide (rental)

2008 Harley Davidson Electra Glide (rental)

Used this one on the 2008 Highway1 tour. Not the best bike for the curves of HW1 but did ok :)

2008 Harley Davidson Electra Glide (rental)

2008 Harley Davidson Electra Glide (rental)

Rental: 2 weeks for April 2008 Route66 tour Mileage logged: 4700 km Comments: Not a big fan of the improved "fly-by-wire" gas BUT the new brakes on the 2008 HD RULE. So much better than the old ones....so much.

2007 KTM 990 Adventure (rental)

2007 KTM 990 Adventure (rental)

Pretty awsome bike I rode for 4500 kms during the Kiwi tour in January 2008. Did like most of the bike, disliked the way the ABS brakes behaved with knobby tires on tight turns of New Zealand. Other than ABS, Katoom has something going with these.

2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide (rental)

Rental: 2 weeks for September 2007 Route66 tour
Mileage logged: 5000 km
Comments: Street Glide instead of Electra, hmmm. Wind protection is much less than Electra provides. Now big pizza box, rides a bit lower than an Electra. I like Electra better :)

Comments: 2nd tour on an Electra. This time with the 5 speed 88 cu. inch engine. I do not feel too much difference. I think this is when I really fell into these...

2002 KTM MXC400 (gone)

2002 KTM MXC400 (gone)

Year: 2002
Engine: Single cylinder 400cc
Purchased: October 2005
Status: Traded (to XR650R)
Mileage logged: 100
Comments: Did not have this one for a very long time. Took it out few times, had fun at Red River. Did not like jetting-circus trying to get the bike running like it should. Those who knwo and understand things say that choking of these bikes when whacking throttle wide open is due to the exhaust manifold. Go figure...did not like too much. Bikes are for riding, not taking them apart and servicing :) I traded this to my XR650R with Hop from twtex.com.

Comments: Not as fun as my '99 viffer. I am not a big fan of the VTEC system in this 6th generatio VFR....even though the chassis and suspension as well as the whole bike was more solid than the '99, I still love the '99 more for it's character.

2002 Suzuki DL1000 VStrom

2002 Suzuki DL1000 VStrom

My first bike...was kinda nice but too sivilized to my taste. Could not really ever get it running like a champ. All kinds of small stuff, clutch basket went under warranty and I got rid of it when it started to show signs of going bad again.
